Textile Science Major

Textile Science major is a program that focuses on the properties and processing of fibers, yarns, whole fabrics, dyes, and finishes, both natural and synthetic.

Includes instruction in the chemical and physical properties of textile materials; end-use analysis; interior furnishing applications; and industrial applications.

What can you do with a major/degree in Textile Science Major?

With a degree in this major, your career title may be (but not exclusive to) textile analyst, yarn curator, print maker, fashion technologist, or dye chemist.  The sector of industry that you work in will depend on your focus of academic study and may extend far outside of the fashion industry….for example, those textiles manufactured for non-aesthetic purposes (protective clothing).
