Blasting/Blaster Major

A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills in using a variety of explosive materials to aid in the construction process.

Includes instruction in safety procedures for storing, handling, placement, charge power determination, drilling, pounding, building demolition, preparing rocky surfaces for building foundations and demolition of explosives.

What can you do with a major/degree in Blasting/Blaster Studies?

If you wish to work in management of construction demolition or site preparation, you'll likely need to complete a relevant 4-year, bachelor's program in a field like engineering or construction.  For a skills-based position in this field, completion of an associate program will likely serve to jumpstart a career in the construction trades industry.
